The Season EP was recorded and mixed at Dan's place, Canberra, January 1999, then 2000, 2001, and releases early 2002. The roots of this EP were the times spent hanging out with friends and messing around making music in Canberra and Queanbeyan during those years, having parties and BBQs, going swimming at Pine Island, etc.

We recorded enough tracks in those years for a double album, but wanted to release EP quality vinyl, and also were limited in terms of budget and resources, so we decided to release the tracks over time on 4 separate EPs and 2 separate CD albums. The names and themes of each EP were Blue Notes, dealing with life, love, family, friends, and loss, The Season, all about summer and good times, The Butcher Shop, basically rough tracks just for kicks, and The Epic, looking forward to the future.

Unfortunately, it would take us so long to get our music released, that by the time we were ready to release the 3rd and 4th EP and 2nd CD titled Part 2, we already had another whole album finished that we felt was too good and too timely for us to wait years to release. So we put the Part 2 CD, The Butcher Shop EP, and The Epic EP on hold, and released Part 3 - Random Thoughts.

That turned out to be a good idea, as Random Thoughts struck a chord locally at the time, and our career took off, we went pro, and we won an ARIA award. However, it was also a bit of a tragedy, as all our recordings were on hard drives, and we suffered the loss of a hard drive that took with it the previous 4 or more years of recordings, so everything that wasn't released at the time was lost, and sadly recovering such data in those days was infeasible. It's a long story.

Note: The tracks on The Season EP and Blue Notes EP are all included in the album Part One, with extra tracks, but without the instrumental or a cappella mixes.
